Covenant Christian School (CCS) was founded in 1983 as a ministry of the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, Alabama. Our campus is housed in the Educational Building of the church, which is located near the intersection of George Wallace Drive and University Avenue. Our motto is “Academically Excellent Christian Education,” and our desire is to plant seeds of Christ-likeness in the hearts of children as we prepare them for future service in the world for God’s kingdom.
About Us
Welcome
How does CCS partner with parents?
CCS was founded on the conviction that a Christian school is an extension of the Christian family. The biblical truths which are taught and lived in the Christian home are honored and upheld. We use the Scriptures to evaluate every aspect of the ministry of CCS, from our curriculum to the guidance we give our students concerning their behavior. As a result, we seek to enrich young minds with “whatever is true, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute…excellent…worthy of praise” (Philippians 4:8).
We strive for excellence in all areas: spiritual, academic, interpersonal relationships, and conduct. Although CCS is a ministry of First Presbyterian Church, we have students, teachers, and school Commission members from various Christian denominations. We emphasize the essentials of the Gospel in our chapel service and classrooms. In order to promote unity and minimize division, beliefs beyond those essential for salvation and Christian maturity are not stressed.
